A big data expo will be held on June 17 and 18 in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province, according to a press conference held on May 11.
A series of investment negotiations, product and technology exhibitions, and summits focusing on the big data industry will take place during the expo which is expected to attract hundreds of domestic internet service providers, software businesses, and internet companies.
By sharing innovative ideas and technologies, the expo aims to clarify the future development direction of the big data industry and integrate resources for providing platforms for individuals, governments, companies, and industries to share big data products and attract investment.
Shanxi has recently been committed to boosting the local big data industry. To achieve this goal, the province has enacted 25 preferential policies for big data business in seven areas, including finance, technology, and government affairs. An association was also set up in December 2016 to guide the growth of the big data industry.
