The fifth Shanxi Seedling and Flower Expo opened on March 11 in Taiyuan, with various plants and flowers for sale.
The three-day expo focused on developing the horticulture industry and helping farmers increase their incomes, with the aim of offering producers and dealers of plants and flowers a comprehensive platform for cooperation and trade.
More than 200 companies from Shanxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Liaoning and Shandong provinces exhibited their fertilizers, gardening machinery and thousands of seedlings and flowers in the exhibition area covering some 5,000 square meters.
Rare plants and regional trees of Shanxi, such as the Chinese honey locust (Gleditsia sinensis) and cork tree (Phellodendron amurense), attracted many buyers.
