Yu Chenglong, a 40-episode television drama produced by Shanxi Film and Television Group and China Central Television (CCTV), hit the screens on Jan 3.
The drama tells the story of Yu Chenglong, a government official from Shanxi during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Yu was renowned for his integrity, dedication and contribution to improving people's lives.
The TV series serves to promote China's anti-corruption campaign among government servants. The show has been in production since July 2015, after the local authority's call for more programming advocating corruption-free culture and devotion to duty.
Top screenwriters and performers were recruited to work on the show, which so far has received positive reviews.
Yu Chenglong is broadcast on Channel 1 of CCTV from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm daily.
