The Russian Academy of Arts, one of the world's top arts colleges, has recently set up an examination site in Shanxi, according to a news conference held in Taiyuan on Dec 28.
The academy selected Yilong Arts School, a local institution, as the official site for enrollment exams and carried out the first tests there on Dec 28. Candidates who pass their examinations will receive offers in April 2017 and go to Russia for study in October, receiving a one-year introductory course for a full multi-year degree offered by the academy.
The event will further cooperation in education between schools and colleges in Shanxi and Russia. Shanxi students will have more opportunities to pursue advanced studies in Russia, advancing arts exchanges between Shanxi and Russia.
The Russian Academy of Arts founded in 1757 is committed to promoting the development of Russian fine art, decorative art, architecture and design. Many famous artists, such as the realist painter Ilya Yefimovich Repin, and romantic painter Ivan Aivazovsky, graduated from the academy.
