An exhibition of new science and technology inventions took place at the China National Computer Congress (CNCC) in Taiyuan from Oct 20 to 22.
More than 50 companies, universities and research institutions from both home and abroad showcased their cutting-edge products and technology at the exhibition.
The exhibition highlighted the contribution of IT to daily life, as well as to various sectors, including education, gaming, and advertising.
A kind of robot especially designed for preschool children caught the attention of families who came to visit the show. It can directly communicate and play with children left alone at home, especially those without siblings.
Meanwhile, parents can monitor their children at any time through the Internet connected system inside the robot, according to a staff member of Anxin Robot Co at the event.
"Since my wife and I are too busy at work to have enough time to look after our child, I will consider buying such a robot to help entertain our child," said a father surnamed Ma.
Other inventions, such as virtual reality equipment and an intelligent blackboard, also attracted many visitors and business representatives.
The high-tech creations at the CNCC will be widely used in industries throughout Shanxi province. In the future, the Shanxi government aims to further integrate IT with traditional industries in order to boost the local economy.
