To satisfy the needs of elderly residents, Shanxi authorities held an elderly healthcare industry expo at the Coal Museum of China in Taiyuan from Sept 10 to 13.
The expo featured the latest applications, technology and achievements in the elderly healthcare industry.
A range of products were on display, such as massage and physiotherapy equipment, cushions for preventing bedsores, medical auxiliaries, as well as cellphones specially designed for the elderly.
The event not only had the latest in healthcare and services, but also hosted an array of activities for the elderly, such as an art and sports festival with opera and dance performances.
A photography exhibition, free medical treatment and free legal consultations were also available to those who attended.
Now in its tenth year, the expo has contributed a great deal to increasing awareness of the issues which affect the elderly, as well as improving services for older generations.
