Paintings that double up as heaters were one of the hottest trends on show at the new energy exhibition area of Taiyuan International Energy Industry Expo from Sept 7 to 9.
The artworks not only brighten up a room, but warm it up too. According to Shandong Dexiang Electrical Technology Co, one of the vendors exhibiting the popular innovation, the paintings' built-in electric panels are powerful enough to heat a small bedroom, study or bathroom.
The pictures are also very energy efficient. The electricity-heat transformation rate of the crystalized carbon heating panels embedded in the canvases often reaches 98 percent.
Shandong Dexiang also claims that the infrared radiation emitted by the products benefits people's health by stimulating the metabolism, and can have therapeutic effects on diseases such as rheumatism and arthritis.
