Overseas media watches Buddhist drama at Mount Wutai

The senior management of a Chinese language newspaper Sept Days based out of Montreal, Canada recently watched the large-scale scene drama "Encore Mount Wutai" during their visit in Mount Wutai on Aug 19, chinanews.com reported.

The overseas guests included the president of Sept Days, Lin Ying and its deputy editor-in-chief, Hu Xian.

"Shock is the first word that comes to my mind," Yin said after she watched the 90-minute ensemble performance by some 180 actors.

"Encore Mount Wutai" is a large-scale drama by China's renowned director Wang Chaoge, which depicts how Buddhism integrates with the lives of everyday people.

While watching the show, Zheng Fukang, the general manager of Encore Mount Wutai cultural development Co.,Ltd gave more details to the guests. Zheng said the 200-meter stage allows the performance to take on a grandiose scale.

He said that the drama of "Encore Mount Wutai" expresses how those who live in contemporary society can also carry on ancient Buddhist tradition.

President of Sept Days, Yin Ling, told the media that people who visit temples should spend just as much time thinking about how to understand the world, peace, understanding, happiness and harmony.
