There was an opening ceremony for a summer camp at the Chinese Studies Education Base in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, where children are expected to learn by following older Chinese rural education methods and study part-time and do farm work part-time.

The idea is to combine classical Chinese literature and farm work as part of their daily activities, with the Chinese culture classes arranged according to different age groups and covering reading the classics, and learning etiquette, calligraphy, and martial arts with some field trips thrown in.
