An exhibition representing the best of Chinese sculpture opened in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province.
The 2015 China Taiyuan International Sculpture Biennial opened in Taiyuan Art Museum on Dec 12, with 310 sculptures created by 293 artists from countries such as China, US and South Korea. It has set six sections with different themes, including experimental and exploratory works inspired by avant-garde ideas and works embodying Shanxi’s local characteristics and traditional thoughts.
The international sculpture biennial has held three consecutive sessions since 2011, and keeps expanding in quality, says Li Ming, a professor of China Artists Association.
Sponsored by the China Artists Association, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the Taiyuan municipal government, this sculpture event will last until Feb 12 next year .
