North China's Shanxi province will hold four large investment promotion events in four cities from May 11 to attract more investment to the province.

The Shanxi Department of Commerce will kick off this round of investment promotion from Guangzhou in Guangdong province, with focus on private-owned enterprises and industrial associations in the Pearl River Delta. It plans to invite 156 enterprises in the region to promote projects on new energy, technology, equipment manufacturing and modern services.

The province's second promotion agenda will coincide with the 2015 Expo Central China that to be held in Wuhan, Hubei province, from May 18 to 20. At this promotion event, Shanxi will try to attract investment from the expo's exhibitors, especially from countries included in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Cooperation in the fields, including new energy, new materials, e-information, modern agriculture, manufacturing and cultural tourism, will be featured at the promotion in Wuhan. Representatives from 111 enterprises will be present for the promotion.

The multinational corporations are the main targets of Shanxi's promotion event in Shanghai. They aim to push through their cooperation in technology, finance, modern services and high-end equipment manufacturing.

This round of Shanxi's investment promotion will conclude in Beijing, with focus on central enterprises.

The province's concentrated investment promotion in the four cities is a measure to deal with current economic downward pressure.
