Wutaishan Buddhist Association started a trial operation of its official website www.wtsfjxh.org and used public accounts on Weibo (or micro blog) and Weixin (or WeChat) on Dec 2 after a busy preparation period.
The website has a total of 15 columns, covering the organization and management, information and events, as well as research and forums.
In order to better promote Buddhist culture, the website uses various forms of publicity, such as text, pictures, audio and videos. And the utilization of Weibo and Weixin can provide the association frequent interactive communication with its followers.
There are about 70-odd Buddhist temples in Mount Wutai, ranging from the flourishing period during the Tang Dynasty (618-906) to the present day. As a major part of the world’s heritage, the Buddhist inspiration and culture of Mount Wutai belongs to both China and the globe.
