The Shanxi provincial government has announced ways it has come up with to boost cultural development and integrate cultural innovation and design with various industries, its very first comprehensive cultural development. It plans to relax registration restrictions for culture enterprises and encourage capital to enter the industry or come up with public welfare projects. It will also encourage resource and investment enterprises to get involved in the culture business, increase government financial support, help establish culture investment funds, support technical innovation by culture companies, integrate the development of culture innovation and design with other industries, increase foreign culture trade, promote culture and finance cooperation, support financial institutions in setting up cultural finance offices and services, develop related land policies, cultivate talented culture personnel, improve industrial design innovation and tourism, and develop special agriculture and sports spaces. The Shanxi government has also decided to establish two foundations for culture, tourism and sports and has come up with innovations in investment and financing for culture and a platform for social funds for culture. This was the first time for Shanxi to set up a government-led cultural development foundation.
