On June 1, a special show of selected Shanxi Opera excerpts was staged at Taiyuan Academy of Shanxi Opera. Unlike other shows, the target audience this time was primary and secondary school students. According to the school, the show was aimed at developing interest in children and young adults in traditional Chinese arts by showing them some exquisite performances.
The show displayed the charms of Shanxi Opera by presenting all the unique skills, including traditional singing, acrobatic fighting and dancing, and traditional instruments. After the performance, the children in the audience learned from performers how to play handkerchief, beads and other skills of Shanxi Opera.
