At a conference on quality and safety demonstration areas for Shanxi province's agricultural product exports, in Linyi county, on April 10, the General Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Administration presented seven of the province's national agricultural product demonstration zones certificates, Shanxi Daily reported on April 11.
The province has worked hard on its quality and safety demonstration areas for agricultural exports in establishing the seven zones, producing one for kidney bean exports, in 2011, one for fruit exports, in Yuncheng, Linfen, and Jinzhong, in 2012, and one for asparagus, in Yongji county, in2013.
Export prices for Kelan county's kidney beans has grown by $100 per ton, while fruit exports reached a record 83,000 tons, bringing in $80.69 million worth of foreign exchange, from top markets in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
