At the 3rd Tourist Industrial Meeting, on Jan 5, in Beijing to announce China'Top 10 tourism counties and Top 10 tourism towns of its Tourism Billboard for 2013, two of Shanxi province's programs were included and Yangcheng was named a top tourism county, and a cultural route in Jincheng, Shanxi province, was recognized as a Top 10 tourism route.
Provincial tourism bureau officials said that, "This is the first time for Shanxi to be given Chinese Tourism Industry honors at the annual meeting, which has been a real success for three years."
This year's meeting, hosted by the Chinese Tourism Association and Chinese Tourism Press, also saw a strategic cooperation agreement signed between the Chinese Tourism Press and Shanxi tourism bureau for promoting Shanxi and helping its tourism marketing and other promotional activities.
