When several extra-large pumpkins weighing several hundred kilos formed a centerpiece at the Changzhi exhibition area, the man responsible for the exhibition area stuck a note on them telling visitors not to pinch them because they "felt pain". He explained with a sigh, "The visitors all think they’re fakes, so they try to find out with their hands by squeezing the pumpkin."
The seeds for these giant pumpkins were introduced from the United States and are at the property of a local nursery in China that plants them in a greenhouse. The individual pumpkins can weigh more than 50 kg, with one of the largest weighing in at around 200 kg.
