The Shanxi provincial economic and information committee announced a third group of province-level industrial demonstration bases, on March 11, with six new bases focusing on equipment, manufacturing, chemical textiles, new energy, and coal and coking chemicals.
The province has its own 12th Five-year Plan for industrialization, a part of China’s 12th Five-year Plan (2011-16), which covers an industrial park with industrial demonstration base, expected to cost around 200-to-300 billion yuan, and more than 10 other demonstration bases, at more than 10 billion yuan. The industrial zone will have its emphasis on new materials development to give the industrial demonstration bases needed transformation and upgrade and to make it a strong industrial development site.
