First championship for Shenyang in Liaoning Para Games

Beijing Paralympics Games world champion long jumper Li Duan won the first championship for Shenyang in the event of shot put.

Li was satisfied with his championship and attributed his success to luck. "Keep challenging oneself in competition" is his belief.

The eleventh Liaoning Paralympics Games were held at Shenyang Sport University. More than 500 athletes representing 14 cities in Liaoning Province will compete in 8 events like track and field and, swimming. The scale of the eleventh Paralympics Games will go beyond that of the tenth held in 2006.

The Paralympics Games will last from July 19 to July 24 and will be used to select potential candidates for the National Games in 2011 and the London Paralympics in 2012.
