Nantong development zone helps cataract patients

A group of people that have recovered from cataracts visited Sutong Bridge and Nengda Ecological Park with the help of workers and volunteers from the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA), Jiangsu province, on Oct 11.

For many of them, it was their first time to visit the bridge and park after surgical operations.

Since the charity organization of NETDA launched a fund for cataract patients last year, it has collected over 300,000 yuan ($49,000) and helped 241 people see again.

  • The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
