Stair climbing winner takes a step in the right direction

A resident of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, recently won first prize in a stair climbing competition by ascending more than 1,000 steps in 7 minutes and 3 seconds.

The competition, organized by the city's administration of sport, was held on Sunday at the Zhejiang Global Center, a 41-story business building.

Xu Xianggang emerged as the winner in the competition. Other entrants who placed in the top 20 of the contest were college students, migrant workers and white-collar workers, who regularly climb stairs on a daily basis.
