The 2010 China (Hangzhou) Cultural & Creative Industry Expo (CCIE) opened on Oct 16 at the Hangzhou Peace International Convention & Exhibition Center, reported the Metropolis Express.

The expo, under the theme of “Creative City, Creative Life,” is jointly organized by the Hangzhou municipal government, Zhejiang University and the China Academy of Art. The Peace International Convention & Exhibition Center, the main venue of the expo, is composed of four theme exhibition halls and eighteen exhibition sections.

More than 1,200 delegates from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao and 14 foreign countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Sweden, Japan and Korea, attended the Expo. An estimated 300,000 people are expected to visit the expo.

Ye Ming, director of the Committee of Hangzhou Cultural & Creative Industry, welcomed the guests at the opening address of the Expo. CCIE, an important part of the West Lake International Expo, will make Hangzhou the center of China’s cultural and creative industry and contribute to the development of socialist culture, according to Ye.
