The provincial People's Congress has approved the latest local tobacco control regulation in public places for Hangzhou that will be effective from March 1, the Qianjiang Evening News reported.
The regulation lists 10 public places where smoking is prohibited, including medical venues, kindergartens, gymnasiums, public elevators, underpasses and the interiors of science, educational and art centers. According to the regulation, violators will be fined 50 yuan ($7.30).
