Within the next 100 days, the 2010 World Expo will open in Shanghai, the city neighboring Hangzhou.

How will Hangzhou prepare for the "Day of Hangzhou" that will be held at the World Expo Village on June 6? According to the organizing committee of the Expo, Hangzhou began getting ready in 2007, and since has implemented its plans. A press conference will be held in Shanghai to promote the West Lake International Expo. A series of themed forums and exhibitions will demonstrate Hangzhou’s contributions to the Shanghai World Expo.

"On Jan 25, we started building and decorating the exhibition hall, which will be open to the public on May 1 to get ready for the 'Day of Hangzhou' on June 6," said one committee member.

From Oct 6 to Oct 7, a forum on "The Most Livable City in a Harmonious Society" will be held in Hangzhou. This forum will be hosted by UN-HABITAT (United Nations Human Settlements Program), the National Ministry of Housing and Development, Shanghai Expo Bureau and Hangzhou Municipal People's Government, according to reports.

It is estimated that Hangzhou will attract approximately 10 million Expo visitors to experience the city’s role at the Expo.
