The West Lake Chinese Culture Study Center opened in Hangzhou on Jan 1, featuring 300 students reciting Sanzijing - "People at birth are naturally good. Their natures are similar; their habits make them different." – at the city's Confucius temple.
Co-founded by the Hangzhou Municipal Government and Chinese Culture Promotion Committee, the center will regularly host learning activities about the influential thinkers in ancient China. There will also be lectures on traditional Chinese musical instruments, chess, Chinese-style painting and calligraphy. During summer and winter vacations, the center will schedule training sessions on traditional Chinese culture for students from primary and secondary schools.
