Hangzhou attended the World Travel Market held from 8 to 11 November, 2009 in London. Despite the gloomy global economy, Hangzhou travel promotion booth has attracted unexpected amount of visitors during the 4 days event. Over 2000 pamphlets were distributed and over 300 inquiries were received on the show. Further more, discussions on Hangzhou travel package between Zhejiang China Travel Agency and several London based travel agents has produced constructive results. These all testify to the increasing international popularity of Hangzhou as a travel destination after the 31st PATA.
The 31st PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) Travel Mart was held from September 22 to 25 in Hangzhou. Over one thousand people working in the field of tourism from more than fifty countries around the world have shown up at the event.
Oversea exhibitors and visitors were very impressed by the scenery beauty and culture richness of Hangzhou. “In China, big cities such as Beijing and Shanghai are already well-known to foreign businessmen, but they would like to know a brand new destination. They are interested in Hangzhou, a very beautiful city, expecting excellent opportunities,” Dale Lawrence, Public Relation Director of PATA was quoted saying on the 31st PATA.
Staged annually in London, World Travel Market is a vibrant four day business to business event presenting a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors to UK and International travel professionals.
