Students in an English class at Xuejun High School were joined on Dec. 8 by a group of special guests – 16 principals from elementary schools and high schools in the United States. The guests showed strong interest in the class, taking part in discussions, and some volunteered to answer questions asked by the teacher from Xuejun High School.
This delegation part of 66 principles from the U.S. who participated in the Chinese Bridge-U.S. Principal Visit China program hosted by the Confucius Institute. The cultural exchange program provides a communication platform for China and U.S. elementary and middle school educators, offers U.S. educators the chance to meet Chinese principals, teachers, and students, and lets them experience genuine Chinese language, culture, and education. While they’re in China, the delegation will visit schools, attend workshops with educators and build partnership with Chinese schools. The delegation started their visit in Zhejiang province on Dec. 5th.
Jointly run by Hanban, the executive body of the Chinese Language Council International, and the American College Board, the Bridge Visit is in its fourth year. Over 2000 principals and educators from school districts across the United States have come to China to take part.
