He also introduced Sharp's environmental vision of expanding business in energy-saving products and energy-creating solar cells in order to help alleviate the world's environmental problems.
Hiroshi Morimoto, Executive Officer and Group General Manager, Environmental Protection Group, followed up with a presentation on the goals and actions of Sharp's new environmental strategy of "Becoming an Eco-Positive Company".

Following the presentations, Deputy Mayor Zhang Jianting, representing the Chinese participants, introduced the city's environmental policies and also offered Sharp some advice.

The event drew 26 representatives from the Hangzhou municipal government and various media organizations.
Sharp has held a series of environmental forums, including ones in Shanghai (May 2007), Beijing (September 2007), Guangzhou (March 2008), Tianjin (May 2008), Wuhan (September 2008), Xian (December 2008), Chengdu (February 2009), and Shenyang (June 2009).
