Hangzhou municipal government held an official ceremony for the launch of Hangzhou International Online and the creation of China Daily website’s Hangzhou International Online News Center Thursday in Hangzhou.

The ceremony was held in the Digital Meeting Hall at the Hangzhou Municipal Government building with Ye Ming, Deputy Secretary of Hangzhou on hand to announce the website’s launch.

Wang Ximin, Deputy Chief Editor of China Daily, and Weng Weijun, standing committee member of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee and minister of the Hangzhou Municipal Publicity Department, gave speeches at the ceremony. Ren Kan, Assistant to the Chief Editor of China Daily, introduced plans for Hangzhou International Online.

Hangzhou International Online is a website with an international vision that displays the distinctive features of Hangzhou. Its official unveiling gives Hangzhou a new platform with a universal language and unique communication methods to showcase the city to the world as a City of Quality Life.

The website was jointly founded by China Daily website, Hangzhou Brand Promotion Office, Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Press, Hangzhou Municipal Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau and Hangzhou City Brand Promotion Committee.

Hangzhou International Online is the English version of Hangzhou Life Quality website. To facilitate cooperation, China Daily website, Hangzhou City Brand Promotion Committee and Hangzhou Life Quality Website also co-established a link named Hangzhou International Online News Center on the China Daily website.
