Man spends fortune to cure pet dog of cancer

2009-October-29 10:09:05

A resident of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, has spent nearly 70,000 yuan ($10,300) on treatment for his pet dog who suffers from cancer.

The 9-year-old dog was diagnosed with malignant lymphoma in March this year.

A vet said the dog could at best survive another two years without treatment, which is very expensive.

The dog has undergone chemotherapy 26 times in seven months.

It would cost about another 30,000 yuan for the dog's treatment.
