The 2009 China International Silk Fair & China International Women’s Wear Exhibition, themed “Fashion, brand, market” will be held in Hangzhou, capital city of East China’s Zhejiang province, between October 20 and October 24.

The Fair and Exhibition will be held in two venues–Hangzhou Silk City and the Information & Commercial Center of Textile Clothing China—and are expected to receive more than 30 thousand silk business people, 2,000 whom will be from abroad. More than 40 press media, including newspapers and magazines, will report from the fair.
Over 20 thousand new products will be be shown, including all kinds of silk garments, women’s wear, silk and women’s wear fabric, and supplementary clothing material. The fashionable silk women’s garments on display are expected to break into the international women’s garment market.
Diverse activities are also scheduled for the event. The China International Silk Forum, China Silk Day, International Women’s Garment Designers’ Match, a fashion night and an exhibition of a century of collections of Chinese woven silk are all lined up. Hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and Hangzhou municipal People’s Government, the 2009 China International Silk Fair & China International Women’s Wear Exhibition is organized by State Cocoon & Coordinating Office and China Silk Association.
Staged annually at the end of October in Hangzhou, the event has become an important platform for product presentation, technical exchange, popularization and trade for international silk enterprises. Because of its high specialty, the China International Silk Fair & Women’s Wear Fair is ranked as one of the top-grade silk fairs in the world. With eight successful fairs worth of experience, a total of over 200 thousand business professionals and a 7 billion yuan turnover were received last year.
