During a recent meeting with Yu Jiang, Chief Business Developer from World Economic Forum, officers from Hangzhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CPIT) expressed their wish to hold regional conferences in order to intensify communication and cooperation with the WEF.
Yu Jiang said the WEF will hold a series of industry and regional conferences as well as the summer and winter summits next year. He expressed hope that Hangzhou could host some of the forums.
Jiang Jindong, Vice chairman of Hangzhou CPIT said they will request that the municipal government proactively campaigns for the opportunity to hold the WEF regional conferences, which would provide more contact and cooperation between Hangzhou and world-wide enterprises. Jiang says further details will be discussed later.
As a platform for the exchange of ideas between enterprises, the WEF Davos Summit includes a summer summit targeted at start-up enterprises and a winter summit with participants from the world’s top 500 enterprises. Business elites, government representatives, experts and industry leaders gather with the shared aim of developing world and regional economies by intensifying bonds between the government and businesses. The WEF also holds industry conferences and regional conferences on specific subjects.
