An online celebration has kicked off in east China’s Zhejiang to put locals in a celebratory mood for the 60th anniversary for the People’s Republic of China.
The Hangzhou Website Cultural Festival was targeted at netizens from Hanzhou, Zhejiang’s capital city, which has seen a growth in numbers recently.
A lifestyle website, 19lou.com, has launched a writing competition entitled My special memory of the West Lake.
Entries have been flying in, with over 210 articles gathered since the competition began just 20 days ago.
Stories submitted by netizens, whether romantic or serious, nostalgic or visionary, are vivid and impressive.
Organizers now have the daunting task of picking 60 articles out of the 210 to go into the next round of the competition, while the netizens eagerly anticipate the results.
Other activities include a photography competition held by hzrb.com.cn, a writing contest with the theme of I love Hangzhou on blogcn.com, and a video contest on pomoho.com.
The first Hangzhou Website Cultural Festival was co-organized by alibaba, Hangzhou.com.cn, blogcn.com, 19lou.com, qnw.com.cn, hzrb.com.cn, Hangzhou Youth & Children’s Center and China Labs.
