Zheng Wantong, vice chairman of CPPCC and Liu Peng, head of General Administration of Sport of China sent the celebration telegraph. Yin Fatang, chief secretary of CPC Tibet Autonomous Region Committee and Ji Xiaonan, chairman of the Working Bureau of Supervisory Panels, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) were present for the opening ceremony.

The successes of the previous two drift competitions won great popularity among Hangzhou people. More than forty thousand people surged into Huanglong Stadium on 24th. The deafening screams of the viewers for their loved drivers ignited the excitement of the heroes on the match field. They all took out the cards up their sleeves to present the audience with a marvelous show. The preliminary on Sep 23 picked 16 players who made into the final on Sep 24. Hasegawa from Japan won the championship and Yamashita from Japan got the second place in the final. Ross from the U.S. ranked third and Zhang Shaohua from China got the fourth place, which is the best among all the Chinese drivers in this event. The drift competition between countries was also held on that day. The U.S., Chinese Taipei and China won the first three places. Shouting the drivers’ name, the car fans were not willing to leave. Many young girls said they also want to be part of it.

Ye Ming, deputy secretary of CPC Hangzhou Committee, Chen Xiaoping, deputy mayor of Hangzhou and Yan Jianchang, director of the Car and Motorcar Sports Center of General Administration of Sport of China presented Beijing Sansong International Group, the sponsor of this event, with the commemoration cup.

Zhao Rongfu, head of the Municipal Sports Bureau, said that this event will help publicize Hangzhou, enhance Hangzhou’s sports foundation, and provide people with more diversions.
