CNTA Chairman Shao Qiwei received a PATA Award of Distinction today (25 September) to mark his outstanding contribution to the development of China tourism in his role as the head of the China National Tourism Administration.

This special award, to be presented by Association Chairman Mrs Phornsiri Manoharn, marks the start of the annual PATA Gold Awards ceremony taking place at the People’s Hall of Zhejiang Province in Hangzhou.
“The China National Tourism Administration has been a source of incredible knowledge, support, encouragement and advice to our Association for many years. The CNTA has also created a very successful roadmap for tourism development in China, resulting in a dramatic increase in the numbers of international arrivals in recent years,” says PATA CEO Greg Duffell.
“The PATA team based in Beijing works very closely with our friends and industry colleagues at the CNTA. We value highly this partnership and we look forward to the continuation of a mutually beneficial relationship that leads to, importantly, additional and worthwhile benefits to PATA members around the world.”
Last night Chairman Shao Qiwei hosted a special ‘China Tourism Night’ dinner for delegates attending this week’s PATA Travel Mart. More than 1,000 industry and media delegates are currently attending Asia Pacific’s most successful networking and contracting travel show.
