On September 1st, the usual school-opening day of the autumn semester, students from Hangzhou Zongwen Xiaoying Experimental School spent their first day in class learning the historical culture of the Xiaoying community.
In the Xiaoying community, where the school is located, a number of historic spots are scattered, such as Taiping Rebellion Palace, the Residence of Wang Wenzhao (the prime minister in the Qing Dynasty), the Home of Yu Dafu, the Home of Qian Xuesen, Wang’s Residence, Plum Blossom and Stone Park.
Students also visited the memorial museum set up after Chairman Mao’s visit, the Memorial Museum of the 1st CPC Team in Zhejiang province, the Showroom of Public Security History in Zhejiang and the Huzhou Clan Association.
The trip was intended for students to know more about the area’s history and to encourage them to study hard. |
