“China’s Best Tourist City – Hangzhou Photography Exhibition,” sponsored by the municipal government of Hangzhou, was successfully held from August 27 to 29 at WenYing Hall located on Shuangshih Road, Tainan.
Wang Guoping, the secretary of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, and the Mayor of Taizhong City Hu Zhiqiang, unveiled the exhibition with a ceremonious gesture on the first day.
Wang Guoping led the Hangzhou economic and cultural group visit to Taiwan at the end of August in order to further promote the tourist city image of Hangzhou and strengthen the cross-strait tourism interaction. This photography exhibition makes up an important part of the trip.
Hangzhou is a popular tourist destination, which is noted for its stunningly gorgeous and well-known tourist attractions such as West Lake, Qiantang River and Xixi Wetland. There is an old Chinese saying once said that “above, there is heaven; below, there is Suzhou and Hangzhou”, referring to the legendary beauty of this region.
The exhibition is made up of three sections: “Glimpse of Hangzhou during hundred years”, which concentrates on changes and cultural features of the city from 1880s to 1970s; “Hangzhou – the Oriental Capital of Leisure, City of Quality Life”, shows Hangzhou’s long history and unparalleled scenes of natural beauty; and in “Fascinating Hangzhou through the lens of Taiwanese”, three cameramen of Taiwan, Su Guohui, Li Zhengyang and Cai Mingfa, present visitors a charming Hangzhou via an aesthetic angle.
