Hangzhou-Taiwan flights to be increased to 23 per week

Starting on August 31, the number of weekly flights between Hangzhou and Taiwan will be increased to 23 to meet increasing market demand.

A top executive at Hangzhou’s Xiaoshan Airport was quoted as saying that the Hangzhou-Taoyuan and Hangzhou-Kaohsiung flights will be regular lines, while the Hangzhou-Songshan and Hangzhou-Taichung flights will be chartered lines.

The executive the flight ticket fares are expected to drop as a result of the increased flights.

Direct flights between Hangzhou and Taiwan began on December. 15, 2008. As of August 23, 2009, Xiaoshan Airport has operated a total of 508 flights to Taiwan, carrying 200,000 passengers total on flights with an occupation rate as high as 79.5 percent.
