Dr. Lou Hansong, deputy director of the Asia-Pacific Leisure Instruction Research Center, offered up some wisdom for Wen: "There is an old Chinese saying – ‘stealing half-day leisure from the hectic life’. There are a lot of beautiful places in Hangzhou—you should stop and smell the roses," he said.
"Write this down for me," Wen said after hearing the saying. "We enjoy leisure, but we can't put it so elegantly."
In the afternoon, guests were invited to Huqing Yutang, the traditional Chinese medicine clinic. Dr. Lü Zhong explained traditional Chinese medicine in English, from its philosophical theory to the concept of harmony of nature and human beings. He also discussed the balance of Yin and Yang and the combination of Chinese and western medicine. After his presentation, the admiring guests surrounded him and asked for a written document of his lecture, wishing to bring it back home for further digestion.
“Two ways of seeing, two ways of thinking” was one of the topics in Dr. Lü's lecture; it’s also a great way to describe the international exchange.
