Shangcheng, in the heart of downtown Hangzhou, is a site of both great scenic beauty and tremendous commerce. Some of Hangzhou’s most beautiful places, including West Lake and Wu Mountain are here.

But Shengcheng is also an important part of Hangzhou’s campaign to be a city of quality life, and has therefore committed itself to developing innovative business, financial, travel, commercial and real estate sectors. Since 2007, Shangcheng district has organized a series of activities to promote Hangzhou and display achievements made along the way. Over 6,000 citizens and 200 international friends were invited to participate in activities of the widely applauded Quality Life Citizen Experience Day held in April of last year.
