Fewer and fewer people are going to photo studios in the age of digital cameras. To revitalize the trend, Ma Liang, a Chinese artist, embarked on a "romantic" journey across China in February to set up temporary photo studios in 35 cities to take artistic photos for ordinary people, free of charge.
Ma will be in Guangzhou on Sept 22 to give a lecture on his experience of running a mobile photo studio.
Ma and his friends have been driving a truck full of props across the country and setting up temporary studios (picture) in venues offered by locals.
