Argentine pianist Ingrid Fliter (above), in her late 30s, is in the prime of her career. A medalist at the 2000 Chopin Competition and the recipient of the 2006 Gilmore Artist Award, she has played with many of the world's top orchestras. She is also one of the few artists who is still cutting records with a major label.
Her performances have been described as showing "poetic lyricism and electrifying, nimble virtuosity". She will perform her debut piano recital in Beijing and pay tribute to Beethoven by playing the composer's piano sonatas, including Piano Sonata No 18, Piano Sonata No 17, 32 Variations in C Minor and Piano Sonata No 23, Appassionata.
7:30 pm, Sept 22. National Center for the Performing Arts, west of Tian'anmen Square, Beijing. 010- 6655-0000.
