The Ox-head-shaped Zun Porcelain

With two delicate ears, similar to an upside-down ox head, this traditional porcelain is named after its shape, called ox-head-shaped porcelain Zun. The original function is a kind of container for alcohol, and it has been used as an indoor decoration since the Song Dynasty (960-1279). The Jingdezhen kiln is believed to be the first producer of the ox-head-shaped porcelain. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1736-1795) it became especially popular, usually with blue-and-white patterns.
