Bald girls and camphor trees

The exhibition Bald Girls is all about women. The three artists -Xiao Lu, Li Xinmo and Lan Jiny - are all women and express feminism.

Xiao Lu's most recent work (pictured above), The Flowers of Evil, features the root of an ancient camphor tree. To me, the root looks like a woman's womb.

The photography of her previous performance art captures a black box she built, in which she talked to strangers who came in and asked them to write their opinions of love.

Li Xinmo paints bald figures using menstrual blood. One is pregnant, and another is horned.

Lan Jiny's works are lighter. The half an orange that frequently appears indicates an imperceptible sense of humor.

10 am-6 pm, except Mondays, until April 3. Iberia Center for Contemporary Art, E06, 798 Art Zone, 4 Jiuxianqiao Road, Chaoyang district, Beijing. 010-5978-9030.
