Oil in the public domain

The White Box Art Museum hosts Beijing artist Shi Xinning's exhibition of experimental oil art.

On view are more than 40 of his creations completed between 2007 and early 2012.

The artist experiments with well-known images collected from public domains, such as photo albums, old magazines and the Internet, to convey his philosophy about the relations between the individual and traditions, classic and contemporary art, social reality and the future.
