World Cup country profile: Honduras
Honduras will be taking part in their third World Cup finals when they kick-off in Brazil against France on the 15th of June, although it would be their second tournament in a row after taking part in South Africa four years ago. Back then the Hondurans went down to defeats against Spain and Chile, taking a point from the last group game with Switzerland. In Brazil they will again face the Swiss in their final first round match after clashes with Ecuador and France. Colombian coach Luis Fernando Suarez is in charge of Honduras, whose most senior players are Stoke City midfielder Wilson Palacios and Celtic defender Emilio Izaguirre. Thirteen years ago, Honduras beat Brazil 2-0 in the Copa America semi-finals to secure the greatest result in their history, and they will be dreaming of more Brazilian glory this summer.
