A Wedding Invitation, a romantic comedy co-produced by the China Film Group and CJ Entertainment from South Korea, tries to recreate the glory of Love is not Blind, the most commercially successful film of 2011 in China.
A Wedding Invitation stars Bai Baihe, the lead actress from Love is not Blind, a film that cost 9 million yuan to produce and later earned 330 million yuan ($52.4 million) at the Chinese box office.
In her latest film, she and Taiwan heartthrob Eddie Peng play a couple involved in a 10-year relationship. The storyline, similar with Love is not Blind, is also about lovelorn young adults. The film will hit Chinese theaters across the country on April 12.
