Warren Buffett as branch manager at the Dunder Mifflin paper company?
The billionaire investor will make a cameo appearance in the season finale of "The Office" as an applicant to fill the newly vacated position at the fictional firm's branch in Scranton, Pa., NBC said on Tuesday.
Buffett, 80, is one of a slew of big names appearing in the comedy's May 19 episode titled "Search Committee." Also appearing are Jim Carrey, Will Arnett, Ricky Gervais, James Spader, Ray Romano and Kathy Bates.
The action revolves around the continuing quest to replace Michael Scott, the bumbling middle manager played for seven seasons by Steve Carell. The actor quit the show to focus on features, and his character bade farewell to his troops two weeks ago.
It was not clear whether Buffett would be playing himself or a fictional character. An NBC spokeswoman did not have details about his role. Buffett played himself in Oliver Stone's "Wall Street" sequel last year.
