Bob Dylan, Dr Dre to perform at Grammys

Bob Dylan will give a rare performance at the Grammy Awards this coming Sunday as part of a salute to acoustic music, organizers said on Thursday.

Dylan, a 10-time Grammy winner, will perform with folk rock band the Avett Brothers and the British indie folk group Mumford & Sons.

It was not clear what song Dylan will sing with the rising stars, who will be performing for the first time at the televised Grammy ceremony in Los Angeles. Mumford & Sons are nominated for best new artists and best rock song for "Little Lion Man".

Dylan, 69, has performed just five times at the Grammys in a 50-year recording career.

In a memorable 1998 appearance, when Dylan won album of the year for "Time Out of Mind", a shirtless man with the words "Soy Bomb" written across his chest hopped onto the stage during the folk legend's set and broke into an erratic dance.

Rapper and hip-hop producer Dr. Dre will also grace the Grammy stage for the first time on Sunday in his first live television performance in a decade, organizers said.

Dr. Dre, a six-time Grammy winner who is nominated this year in his producer role for Eminem's album "Recovery", will sing alongside the Detroit rapper, as well as Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine.

Grammy organizers announced earlier this week that Mick Jagger and Barbra Streisand will also be among the performers on Sunday. The three and a half hour Grammy ceremony will be televised live on CBS and covered on YouTube and on Grammy.com and CBS.com.
