Bond's quantum leap

Films about superheroes are a pleasant escape from a world in financial crisis and with perfect timing, James Bond's latest adventure, Quantum of Solace, hits Chinese mainland theaters on Nov 5, nine days ahead of its premiere in America.

Moviegoers here will see a complete, unedited version of the famous British spy's latest outing. Daniel Craig, who had great success with Casino Royale, again plays 007, and the new Bond girl is Ukrainian-born actress Olga Kurylenko.

Devastated by the death of previous Bond girl Vesper in Casino Royale, 007 continues his high-octane adventure to Austria, Italy and South America to avenge his first love.

Quantum is the shortest 007 film yet at 106 minutes, yet the most expensive, having cost US$ 230 million.

Craig did many of the stunts himself and reckons his toughest was when he and Kurylenko leapt out of a plane with winds of 200 mph ripping around them and 20 cameras shooting from all angles.
